This week the American Honda Foundation celebrated 25 years of changing lives - one dream at a time. Founded in 1984 on the 25th anniversary of Honda's U.S. operations by then American Honda President Tetsuo Chino, the Foundation was created as an enduring way to say thank you to the American people for their support. Mr. Chino wanted to create a grant-making organization that would work to invest in Americas most valuable resource children.
Since its inception, the Foundation has given over 500 grants to organizations in 48 states including Puerto Rico, and has helped serve more than 114 million people through the support of educational programs in the areas of science, technology, engineering, math, the environment, job training and literacy.
As the Foundation looks forward to the next 25 years, its goal is to continue to help Honda serve the community and bring the company closer to achieving its goal of "becoming a company society wants to exist."
Thank you to the people of Honda that help make this ALL possible.
