Nice strategy, I definitely gotta try this - I was doing this on veil of ice with tesla towers. Tesla spam is good on out of bullets and normal missions, but at around wave 30 on grinder they just started soaking it. At the end I had killed around 800 and let 200 through.

I remember trying this (did actually suceed with 242+k) with about 8 meteors and the rest gun towers=BIG mistake, gun towers become obsolete too soon and the walkers just soak it up. Its all about flames and explosions when doing a grinder mission.

you would probably get a better result if you waited until it was absolutely essential to upgrade the towers, you were often upgrading towers when there was no need for it.
still, this is a nice strat
