@trigga1uk I'd take an enlightened society with a more competitive job market over an engineered nation of football hooligans who feel like they're entitled to jobs any day. Degrees are more accessible, which might've diluted their monetary value, but I'm a strong believer in education being not only a means to an end but also a valuable end in itself. People who are truly concerned with the job market must work for a BETTER degree than the rest. No sense of entitlement after simply getting in.

@wangpangu well there are moral and social elements in some of these nations that are far superior to ours. But in many cases these social elements are something we had but turned our back on, sense of community and family is one of the main things, and we replaced it with the concept of consumerism and self gratification. well one major problem is the end of low skilled work, all the industry thats disapering is not helping. Some people are not cut out for academic work, and they have always been good for the manual work, but now we dont have those jobs but we still have those kind of people. Addded to the total disaster of uni degrees being worth nothing because the government suceeded in flooded the nation in graduates without assesing if there was actually any jobs for them to go into.

yes, you are right. But the same people that let the british people turn into lazy benefit scroungers are the same people that opened the door to all the immigrants. We have the workforce here, but we must make them work. That is why many immigrants work so hard, is because where they are from - if you dont work, you dont eat. I think its high time we started learning from less developed countries.
