Every fall, the small flocks of crows around Manhattan, Kansas merge and add additional crows, becoming a mega-flock of stunning proportions. This mega-flock moves from place to place throughout the day, usually according to a predictable schedule. As the evening comes on, they settle down to roost in or near the northern part of the KSU campus. This video shows them preparing to roost. The mega-flock disperses in the spring.
When the mega-flock comes into your area, it is very spooky and looks like something from a horror movie. KSU is very good at cleaning up the mess quickly, so it doesn't accumulate like it once did. This is my first video of editing together live (not animated) clips; it was made with Sony Vegas Pro 8.0.
