  • I've never seen somebody grab a shirt and then punch.. also, you must train to defend a punch at live speed. That's a must.. you may get hit, but if you truly wish to develope the skills.. has to happen.

  • Lucky you if you have never been grabbed and threatened. Some aggressors do this because they do not want you to get away. Normally done with the threat of being punched in the face if you do not comply. At least you are aware of it now.

  • i like how in this video the attacker is bigger than the defender because in real life the offender will probably have a heavier/bigger set body than the defender because an attacker wouldn't decide to hold someone up who is bigger than them

  • This video is very impressive and should be used as an educational tool to enhance all martial arts styles and systems. Daniel Verkerke brings true intelligence to the art of self defence and is well respected personally and professionally among martial artists worldwide.

I don't believe you have never seen the collar grab in real life... You are nay saying and exaggerating I believe. Even if no grab, many amateurs will stick an arm out to measure range and to provide a target for their other hand to hit.

  • do you twist the elbow? what if the attacker lets go or turns w/ you?

  • This is very nice, a quite simple maneuver- steppind back and twistign his elbow, which allows you to do many to your opponent.

  • Good instruction.... and I dig the star wars reference at the end.

Let the force be with you, too. (Never underestimate nerdrage.)

  • I have seen loads of people grab and then do repetitive punches to the face. I also teach students a similar drill but we do it slow at first like any other technique and then speed it up till there doing it full speed

  • It is believed by some that you get better response by yelling "Fire" than you would yelling rape. This is an example for women who may break away from the attack. Seems when people yell for help everyone turns the other way.

  • that is a tall aryan -- the perfect race, the fuhrer would be proud!! jus kidding, i'm a black-cuban-jew so no short of irony, haha.
