Chimp Attack. How to defend the Owner from criminal prosecution.

Is the Owner Criminally responsible? Did she really want the chimp to attack her friend.
Legally the Chip was not classified as a mere pet or an exotic animal and the state law of CN specfically makes a person strictly liable for harm caused by EXOTIC PETS or PETS. The Chip was exempt from this classification because it is a PRIMATE not a tiger, bear or Shark etc. Legally Travis was not meant to be included in this law. Why not just hold this woman financially responsible in Civil Court? What do you think ?

I think the owner of Travis is responsible! She's crazy it's a wild animal duh you leave it in the zoo. Why couldn't she get a reall best friend like a dog or cat!!! Its not like a dog or cat will rip your hands off and tear your face apart.

Travis the chimp bit a woman in the 90's & tried to pull her in a car. His mom was shot in Missouri for escaping & attacking a neighbor. In 2003, police had to subdue Travis with a tranquilizer gun when he was running amok for 2 hours downtown after getting out of his owner's car & chasing people. A family friend reported to be afraid of Travis & said that he was aggressive & had attacked others. Travis DID have a history, & lord knows how many close calls that the owner never reported.
