Cops Charged in Beating Death of Homeless Man - Fullerton, CA - Kelly Thomas

Fullerton, CA --- Two police officers will face felony charges in the death of Kelly Thomas, 37, who was brutally beaten by six Fullerton Police officers and died several days later from his severe injuries. The announcement was made on September 21, 2011 by the county prosecutor. Officer Manuel Ramos will be charged with one felony count of second degree murder and one felony count of involuntary manslaughter. Additionally, Crpl. Jay Cicinelli faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and use of excessive force.

They should BOTH be charged with FIRST degree murder. They get leniency just because they're cops? BULLSHIT. If anything, they should get MORE time since they're supposed to be protectors, and they're abusing people and their power, not mercy.

These are very distressed people these officers and not at all happy people which is a very uncomfortable existence as it is. Certainly these 6 should be the last people on earth to be doing police work or any community disciplinary watch !

Through inaction all officers are responsible for Thomas' fate. They seriously need to amend the law for cases of police brutality/murder. These guys should all be in prison.

@devilledevil98 The other four cops weren't sitting around filing their fingernails as Kelly was murdered. They were fully involved. They are all guilty of murder. The cop in Oakland who shot a handcuffed man in the back got a slap on the wrist and this is what will happen to these two maniacs. The Orange County DA's office is incredibly corrupt. They are protecting all of the six officers, including Ramos and Cicinelli, not prosecuting them. They'll get 6 months max.

What is really interesting here is that there were all kinds of witnesses and tapes. The public knew that the officers were guilty, and yet they waited for the law to work things out. There were no riots and burnings.

One of the other troubling trends in the police community is that they are becoming increasingly militaristic. They have full auto weapons and they have SWAT teams conducting searches and arrest warrants. That was NEVER to be the purpose of these units. That's for the Nat. Guard.

Isn't it Funny How When a Police Officer is Killed in the Line of Duty, They Come Out and Cry to the Media about How there a 'BROTHERHOOD' and a 'FAMILY' ... And About How there Soo Sad and Distraught ... Then When a Police Officer just like 'Mr. Ramos' Beats an Innocent Man to Death for No Reason, The Cops Again Come Crying to the Media About how 'Mr. Ramos' is some sort of a Rogue Cop and How he took Matters into his Own Hands.. Ohh but i thought you Guys were a Family..? Right...?
