you are simply clueless if you think that a pianissimo, i.e a MUSICAL effect should be decided only according to the libretto, especially in baroque music: a decidedly non-veristic genre. a pianissimo on 'heavens' makes MUSICAL sense above all, especially as it is connected to the repeat of the word, i.e. the word is not exclaimed but SUNG

Beautiful, classy and poignant. Much more class and musicality, and respect for the notes than Caballé who also likes killing this aria! Sorry! Gencer, as always, is so moving and strict to the style. Ethereal PPP, floating tones, breath control ... Thank you for posting.
