It would be creepier if you played the Super Metroid Room Ambience and walked in doing what you're doing but also have a vibrating sound like that of a fly wing or something weird.

Not bad actually. I'm considering trying this out myself.
I think in the film they blurred the frames into each other to fully create the effect, which would be fun to try out.
