Collision at First Base & Aftermath

Having to rush a throw, Martin Medina let one sail a bit -- right into the path of catcher David Mitroff! First Baseman Mike Tauchman does his best to make the catch and apply the tag, but in the process nails Mitroff with his knee... I think.




Was Mitroff out? He was awarded the base, anyway. He certainly didn't need any further grief.. although getting the base was probably the last thing on his (conscious?) mind at that point.

The aftermath of the play includes David's scary attempt to regain his senses. Later on, you can see him emerge from the on-site medical facilities -- well done, training staff!

By the way, the Alaska Goldpanners won the game behind the strength of Matt Vedo's pitching and the club's stellar infield.

I have many questions about this.........what the hell caused him to drop like that? He didnt even really take a good shot or so it appeared, also if this kid was knocked out why didnt they properly do C-Spine Stabilization, back board him etc.....Also that's the teams training staff? Where are their medical bags etc. This kid just seems like a pussy from what's shown here. I expected a far worse collision then a glove to the head.
