Beautiful. Today is the US Anniversary of the start of our Civil War. But i was surprised to find this. I listened to "Enka" when i was stationed in Japan 2007-2009. I never knew Enka was really political music. You can hear the roots of Enka here. Kind of like you can hear the Irish roots of American Country Music in "Marching Through Georgia".

鬼籍に入った演歌師・桜井敏雄氏によれば知道さんは歌を歌うのが­下手だったとか。

それでも１９歳でこの詞を作ったのだから、親子揃っての天才なん­でしょうねぇ……
