  • would this apply to an earlier video of yours "snooker pro tips 15, using side around the black" ?

  • @mtesh0094 yes it does .....anytime you use side ......this is why side is so difficult to play and use

  • this video has a good explanation of how the cue ball bends when hit with side before it gets to the ball, however when this guy plays with side and when he explains where to pot the ball when on the black, he is actually aiming to the wrong side of the pocket. with his first 2.35, when playing with right hand side, the cue ball will throw to the left, which actually means you will hit the black thicker, so you should actually be aiming for the left jaw of the pocket and not the right!!

  • outstanding..!

  • Hi Neil, first of all, thanks for all the wonderful videos u have been uploading.

I would like to ask u, when u apply right side on a stun shot, hitting the ball (fully), the OB will throw to the left. How about right side follow shot? and also right side on a draw shot?? appreciate ur reply.. thanks in advance..

  • Hi, Neil, I agree with you when playing rhs spin, the CB will squirt to the left and then move along a straight line. But the line will be off course to the left side of the OB, especially in the case of slower pace hit, there is less curve for the CB after the squirt to move to the right hand side of the object ball. So the OB would be hitting the right jaw.

In your demo, you over hit across the face of the cue ball thus sending it to the right side of OB and OB to left jaw of the pocket.

  • Thanks Neil for explaining side I did follow eddie charlton method in his book but your way is much better. I am really enjoying the game with your lessons and getting better

  • THanks for explaining the throw to me, as it was getting very frustrating me putting side on an easy pot only to miss. thanks again

  • Hi Neil.

First off, thanks for all your videos. I'm quite the beginner and I think your tips will help me improve.

I wanted to ask you: in this video you basically say that the white ball will take a curve trajectory to the object ball. But you only show very short shots. So, what happens when aiming for a longer pot? For example, when you hit the ball with side, from the bulk area to attempt a safety shot (by returning the ball to the bulk area) how much "off" do you need to aim?

  • Hi Neil,

I don't have a youtube account but i created one because i wanted to say how much i appreciate your clips. Didn't realised i misunderstood the mechancis of side until i saw your demo. Great work! All the best to your future snooker tournaments!
