Cailin, checking form on an SCA off side shot. I'm new to this game, so don't look at this as how its supposed to be done. I'm looking for critiques so I can get better.

  • In order for me to get any force with an off-side I've got to have my sword-side leg forward, else I can't hit worth a damn.

As Jei suggests, it might be worth a try.

  • Instead of pushing the blow, pull it to where it's going. This will open up the shot's many varied applications. You're also opening up your head and leg again as you throw this shot. Try mixing it up by putting your sword leg forward. Depending on where you're it's either a 'good idea' or 'blasphemy'. Try throwing all your blows without hitting anything. This will change how you contsruct your recovery and is important in learning to avoid developing tennis elbow.

  • That shot is my bread and butter. You're doing it very well. try taking it fowrard. throw three crosses, after each strike step closer to the pell and strike deeper by raising your sword elbow a bit.

  • all those were real light.. too much arm not enoug hip. Try like the other poster suggested.

    Sa'id(Atlantia)

  • you throw your hip out a bit. With your smallish heater its easy to telegraph your sword based only on the lil hip swing.
