Wow it is great to see how My uncle's music is still appreciated. I grew up listening to his 45's that our family still has. In fact, my cousins (his children) have the gold record plaque he received for She wrote it, I read it. Thanks for being fans!!!

Billy Ward & the Dominoes don't have a King 6106 in their discorgraphy, but they do have a King 6016 Oh Holy Night/What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? in 1965.

@GasMaskHeadhunter I hear what you say but you raise points that are better discussed in northern soul forums. There are a lot of people that never left the scene - but perhaps raised families or even tinkered with their scooters, becasue they have always lived the life style. Proper NS DJs cover records to stop other DJs from copying their sets. I have never known any decent DJ collector purposely rub noses. I would like to hear some of your unknowns -pls put a couple up here

@rockabillydj I was the lucky seller of this great record. In fact the record pictured for this video is the exact record I sold for $15,099.00. Mr. McCants died just weeks after recording this and King records decided it would be disrespectful to release it publickly but not before several promo's made it out to local radio stations for airplay. King probably decided to use the same record number for the Billy Ward record. Lucky for me and the buyer this one was a survivor. :-)

I see this sold for 15K. How many copies of this are there? Is this a runner up to Frank Wilson on Soul? And, why do the discographies on King records say this issue was issued as 45-6106 Billy Ward & The Dominoes? What did King Records do, actually press a small handful, then decide to release Billy Ward on this number? Pretty darn rare American Soul record, and amazing sounding? Why was this never promoted? Great!

I know its always been a part of the scene but I hate cover ups with a passion.. Ive spun some cracking unheard of sounds but never felt the urge to be 'elitist' and try to build up the price of it. Yes of course its always nice to have a rare sound in yer box but we dont need to rub peeps faces in it. Let them know what it is and lets see if theres more copies about. All these peeps coming back to the scene now with a few quid in their pockets hurting the scene just as much as Footsee did.

Still sends chills when I remember Pat playing this at Stafford - such was the class of all the 60s Newies being played. Follow this by Timothy Williams - Competition. The list was endless. I remember telling Pat that Johnny my Boy was the Ad-libs. That didn't go down well either!
