  • Thank you for your appreciation. I keep thinking about extending the music as I can imagine just that, but I can't change the poem.

  • It's something I made up via an electronic keyboard and thought it suitable. Thank you for the compliment and I'm glad you liked it.

  • Thanks for sharing this MrParsons. I was watching a documentary about the tragic 1936 Eiger attempt by Hinterstoisser, Kurz, Angerer and Rainer and thinking of your poem as I did...it fit perfectly. Well done.

Thank you for your appreciation. I wanted to do right for the memory of these climbers and people like them.

  • Thank you for those generous words and your appreciation. I hear the word 'awesome' used to describe all kinds of mediocrity, and once,I even heard people talking of 'world-class car parks' (true). But then, of course, I learn of people like Mallory and Irvine and things appear in perspective.

  • A fine tribute indeed, well done sir!

  • fine tribute to Mallory..the determination and courage is etched in his face.I think he made the top and died on the descent. He always said the descent was the worst.

  • What a very lovely piece of music to go with this video.....bravo!

  • Fascinating story ! Beautiful music to :

    What is it ?

  • Lovely bit of writing, that.

  • It is my contention that divine providence chose Edmund Hillary - Tenzing Norgay to be credited with climbing Mt. Everest first due to the fact that George Mallory-Andrew Irvine would not have been even a 10th the humanitarians that Hillary-Norgay became. Mallory-Irvine, though brave and courageous, were nonetheless arrogant men.
