Ok, this is tutorial number 6, MEDIUM (5/10), This is the tutorial that will show you how to make Hackable doors / computer and how to make the turret :D

  • I got a problem with the source sdk, after i test the map and i quit the game, (takes like 10 secs, nothing too interesting in it =P ) the source sdk is unmoveable, the 3D Camera is black and i cant move it at all, and all other windows (X,Y) (,Z,X) etc are frozen and i cant zoom in or zoom out with mousewheel (i see the zooming bars moving but picture it self wont change for sheat) halp!

  • @Juppie902 run alien swarm in windowed mode: steam library -> right click ASW: properties, click launch options: type:: -windowed -console

    My rigged rig (that should be rigged some more soon) running games in windowed mode is... imma jump out of the window and eat bricks for dinner.

    Besides i wanna play with friends in full HD with 1920 x 1080 and im rlly sensitive to changing it to lower res and lowering a games graphics. its so sad! it reminds me of the times when i had CRT screen less then 17" and a GF 5800 FX

  • @Juppie902 Dude, tell Hammer not to run the game after it's done compiling, and then enter alien swarm and run the map from the dev console (make sure you close hammer and the sdk first) it should work just fine. I know it's a little fiddly, but it's what I do, and it works.

  • @Juppie902 hey Juppie i have the same problem ...but i dont want to run in windowed mode ... i figured out that i could get it to work without having to close Hammer or anything. After i save/compile the map then i just minimize the Hammer window to the Start Menu ...then run Alien Swarm and run the map from the console .. when i go back to windows ... Hammer is fine and I can continue working. Hope this helps. >8)

  • at 1:36 im having a problem with that part. i try to go to properties but the only thing that shows up is VisGroup

  • @Rawk3t lol you sure you think source map can simulate a sun going down....because every source game use only map not the whole world that connect to each other...so all thing should be fixed except for NPCs entities or other dynamic light.

    Oh about the attach light problem...try to make a env_projectedtextures and attach it to a func_rotating.i had made one and its worked fine.

  • @HmRnKng36 did you put trigger for the door?

  • Is it possible to connect more than one turret to a trigger? Considering they have inputs for the 1st turret, perhaps they could have a 2nd?....

  • @Juppie902 No. It's a glitch. You need to run it windowed if you want it so you don't have to restart the SDK.

  • Ok so i made everything the hacking works and i can see the door except i walk right through it like its not there how can i fix this?

  • i dont know where this is in in ur tutorail but can u tell me quickly how to run the maps you make?
