Thousands of black farmers converge on the steps of the state capitol building in Montgomery, AL to protest discrimination at the hands of the USDA.
For years, these farmers were denied farm loans because of the color of their skin. Counsel for the black farmers reached a settlement agreement with the USDA on Feb. 18, 2010, but Congress has failed to appropriate the funds for the settlement.
In an attempt to spur nationwide awareness of the issue, Dr. John Boyd, President of the National Black Farmer's Association organized a set of rallies culminating in a protest in front of the USDA office in Washington, D.C.
This video is from the rally in Montgomery, AL.
