E-trailer for the National Theatre's production of 'The Hothouse' by Harold Pinter.
'The day got off to a lousy start! A death and a birth. Absolutely bloody scandalous! Is it too much to ask -- to keep the place clean?'
At once chilling and deliriously funny, Harold Pinter's The Hothouse was written in 1958 just before The Caretaker.
'You've insulted me, you've insulted the cook, and you've insulted Jesus Christ.'
Harold Pinter, who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2005, is generally regarded as the world's greatest living dramatist.

Went to see this and it was amazing to hear people laughing during the torture sequences... that was probably more frightening than the play itself!

If anybody was a fan of Paul Ritter in this then go and see The Norman Conquests at The Old Vic. He is an amazing actor and really makes the show.

Pinter takes a bit of getting into but if you start with The Birthday Party because it's just classic Pinter and then you'll be hooked. His work is so eccentric and yet poignant and he truly deserves the Nobel Prize.
