  • Thanks for these videos, they show how these consoles were back then. :)

  • @y2k4ever1 I think they started with Nemesis 2 to use the SCC chip for the later games. A built-in chip that made that awesome music possible. There is a special music stage in King's Valley 2 and there are great tunes. Just check it out. Maybe I'll do a video about it.

  • @MrVenom1974 sounds good, i might just check it out, but i have a question, how could konami make the msx port of salamander sound so goo, i don't think only 3 sound channels did that, did the game come with a built in sound chip?

  • @y2k4ever1 That's a good point. Maybe you're right. Neverless the Colecovision is a great console. MSX wasn't just a console so this system had to compete against C64, Amstrad and Spectrum. And with the appearance of Amiga and Atari ST MSX7MSX died. If you're interested in the MSX, I made some movies about the games and my collection on my site.

  • @MrVenom1974 I know, and that were my previous point came from, the msx continued to live, while the colecoiseon lived only a short time, so by chance if the colecoviseon had a long life span, then some of its games may have looked as good as metal gear 2, but maybe not that cool tittle effect.

  • @y2k4ever1 Yes, the old MSX game like Time Pilot, AThletic Land or Antarctic Adventure look identical to the Colecovision. But the later games surpass the Colecovision. Just look Metal Gear 2, Usas or Snatcher.

  • @MrVenom1974 true, but why then do allot of msx games look like colecoviseon games, bad porting, or was its potential not being used?

  • @y2k4ever1 Don'T think so. And if you see Metal Gear 2 that would be too much für the little CBS.

  • Thanks for this great video. But nearly all the Konami games (forget Green Beret, please) defined the MSX/MSX2.

  • Amazing it was practically a colecoviseon, yet pulled of metal gear so well, could the coleco do that ":3
