Bass lines on major chords for the novice bass player. the chords are II: C I G I F I % :II
Some ideas by using the notes in the major chord (root, third and fifth) Practice starting on a third once in a while :-)

Kind'a forgot to cut the ending off , lol!

  • Hi Marlow I'm a dane, im writing in english because other people may have the same question as me :)

Question: What program do you use to get the beat with the notes? I've been looking all over the internet for such a program/software without any luck, can you please tell me/us what you use thx a lot :)

  • @xxBimmerxx I used Garageband on my macbook

  • You could dramatically improve this video by:

    1) decent lighting, the video is way too dark, can barely see what you are doing and there is a reflection right on the neck of the bass which makes it even harder to see what your left hand is doing.

    2) Speaking louder or into the microphone and NOT having the sound loop playing OVER your voice in the beginning, can't understand what you are saying because you voice is lower than the sound loop

  • @transmitmedia Ive bettered myself in more recent videos. Thx anyway for the critique:-)

  • @FreeWilledHippie You're a 13 yr old little pompous BRAT is what you are. This guy could BLOW you away with his left hand tied behind his back if he wanted too. Could you NOT read the title, "Beginning Bass line/exercise" sit's to help out novice Bass players. You obvisouly haven't seen his other videos' when he's sslapping and plucking like "The Brother's Johnson" who I'm sure you've never heard of either. This guy has been busting out bass lines before your puck ass was born. SHOW RESPECT

  • Great teaching style!! thank you!

  • @verdelina

At low volume you can without, yes (max 20 % of amp's volume cap or something). It doesn't exactly sound great though, so a real bass amp will definitely be way better. You can get a really cheap secondhand 15-30W bass amp.

  • it may sound stupid, but this video is probably one of the most inspirational i've ever seen on yt. shame i son't have my bass with me i'll have to wait till day ster tomorrow to try those basslines. anyway, thank you marlovedk

  • That's some fine ass porn music...

  • Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. Your lessons are the best.

I'm an international freelance drummer / percussionist who has recently picked up playing the bass, which is not only tons of fun but it enables me to teach drummers at my workshops and private lessons how to really lock in with a bass player.

Your lessons are giving so much great stuff to play and practise.

    Love your work !!

    God Bless.
