  • THE STUDENT IS MY QUARTET COACH!! :D

  • Is it me or does Neubauer seem a tad condescending...?

  • Excellent! Reminds me of my old days. :)

  • "What do you think?"

That's called introspection. When he leaves Julliard the student won't have a teacher in his pocket to consult with and he'll need to be able to analyze his own performances. Learning to do that is almost as important as anything else he might learn in school.

  • @dasteufelhund i totally agree with you man, it helps the perform to look inside his performance and get to know himself musically, as opposed to just listening to the teacher talk and talk and really not getting it, having a teacher tell you what do you think is an excellent of helping you help yourself to be aware of what you re playing and doing. well said, dast! being a dick of a teacher will get you nowhere, its kindness and constructive criticism that makes you play beautifully.

  • @JaySkuh Teachers need to be dicks so the students are prepared for audiences. Don't understand why you don't get this concept.

  • @joshisaac "What do you think?" turns the result back to the performer, reexamine what he just played. If this is demoralizing, then he should quit this performance business and do something else.

  • I think the teacher is spoiling the players originality..

  • @Mojomanmadness1971
