  • Rio! There's always something going on!

    Cows! Why not?

I like the one soaking in the bathtub!

  • @MsJanetWood Yes. You're right! :)

  • You call a manger scene a "crib"--I like that :) Thanks, as always, for sharing your beautiful country :)

  • @silverscreamgrl

I was searching on the dictitionary for "presépio"... and the answer as "crip". A presépio is a representation of the "manger scene" made with any kind of sculptures. People usually have the "manger scene sculptures" at home, especially during Christmas. It's very popular in Catholic countries.

  • The cows are neat.. I am guessing that they are all over the town? I have seen similar things with scarecrows and ice sculptures in small towns in the midwest U.S.

What are the orange bins on the street? Recycling bins? Trash bins?

Is Copacabana a popular tourist destination? It looks very populated, but it is probably your summer right now? I cannot remember but think I am right(?)

My favorite cows were between the scuba diving one and the golden earrings haha

  • @silverscreamgrl Do you think that was populated? You must see it during a very hot sunny weekend close to the new year eve, when a lot of people are on vacation and there are a lot of tourists because of the New Year beach party.

About the "orange bins", yes, they are trash bins... orange is like the "official" Rio City Hall color when you talk about garbage hehehe

Well, I can not say "all over the town, but there are about 60 cows all over the most "famous" and/or "popular" spots.

Actually, that day was a "freezing" 22°C (72°F) cloudy summer day. Yes, Copacabana, for examples is a touristic place... but the locals also like to go to the beach, especially people who live nearby.
