for some reason I cannot get this song out of my head. It's simple and beautiful but I doubt any kids younger than 20 or born outside of China will know this song, though.

  • You'll be surprised to learn that there are many overseas Chinese youth either from the mainland or natives to their adopted land that are very patriotic to the Motherland !

  • It's so beautiful! Great performance! Do you know the title by any chance? It's just great!

  • so true, its about a chinese kid who led the jap army into a chinese ambush during the jap invasion. japs kill the kid and to honour the kid, the people rise up to fight the japs.....i think

  • Hey ur awesome and I'm 13 and I knew this song but it was u who reminded me of this song after leaving china for two years. When I was young I liked this song since it was on my text book as the previous post mentioned. But I never thought it was this beautiful until hearing u playing it. :) and :(

  • 放牛的孩子王二小。they still have this song on music textbook for primary school today i think.

  • What is the song called? it's beautiful

  • About your short patriotic song: It was about Wang Er Xiao. It is in a reading section in my first grade in Canton in the 1970s. Wang Er Xiao is a young boy who was herding his cattle. One afternoon the Japanese invaders came, and he led the Japs into the ambush of the Chinese Army who defeated the Japs, but the Japs killed the boy. I am in my 30's now in the US; nice to be connected to my past again. Proud of the progress of my people and my heritage.

  • very emotional play of the song. A bit of short but I feel that you love the song. I guess the original song is written for traditional chinese string instructment.
