This one time a debt collector called me (I recently changed my number prior to the call) and he asked for a person who no longer used that number. And I couldn't make out what he was saying at some parts so I told him to speak up and he started yelling and I started laughing. That made it worse though, but it was still funny. So he got all pissed and I hung up on him. lol he never called back.

I get at least 15 of these calls a day. I've started playing jokes on them - one time I answered and no one responded so I burped into the phone and hung up. Another time I answered the phone, held it over the toilet, and flushed.
Sadly, they still call.

@TheWolfmoon21 Would you not demand money from someone who has owed you for a significant amount of time?
-
@TheWolfmoon21 I cannot believe he just messaged me saying that they do have legal powers when that is a complete lie....they just want to keep people ignorant....even goverment websites state that they have no powers what so ever
-
@TheWolfmoon21 sure they do, anyone who has ever read their contract knows that they gave that lender consent to hire people and or companies to aid in collection of a past due account. We often excessive our legal powers by ,for instance, sending someone to retrieve the property or submitting the paper work to the court for judgement which often leads to a garnishment. We even, through our legal powers that the debtor gave us, report to the credit reporting agencies on their behalf.
-
@mrrodneyalong debt collectors have no legal powers...you are just bullies and parasites....No contract No consent

To get relief from Debt collectors, a person must pay their debts timely or must consolidates it with debt settlement companies.
The system by which we live is designed to keep the poor and middle class poor and middle class and the rich richer. It's that simple.
Don't pay these assholes back for something they should already have given you - a free education so you can make it in this country. Go into $120,000 debt just so you can get a 'job' for $40,000/year? Sounds like a HUGE scam to me.

I subscribe to T/W voip. On line you can access "VoiceZone" & block 30 numbers. VoiceZone also allows 30 more "selective call forwarding". I forward them to a recording on my Magic Jacks that has a greeting we all know "I'm sorry, this number has been disconnected & is no longer in service, if you have received this message in error, please check the number and dial again." In addition, I have a Panasonic cordless system that allows me to block another 20 numbers.
