Nastia Liukin Gymnastics Finalists 2009 Sullivan Award

Kids Talk Radio was on hand to capture the news at the 79th. Annual AAU Sullivan Award. This award is about honoring Americas top amateur athletes. The athletes for 2009 are the following: Cynthia Barboza, Tyler Hansbraugh, Shawn Johnson, Nasthia Liukin, and Garrett Weber-Gale. These names are in alphabetical order. Shown Johnson won the Sullivan Award for this year. Everyone received a Sullivan Gold Medial with his or her name on it. The New York Athletic Club was the perfect location. totally agree, Nastia has done more than Shawn... but I think that's probably because Shawn is on Dancing with the stars and she is well known yet. sorry for my english :D

top amateaur athletes? Nastia Liukin is a professional gymnast and earns money for the medals she wins, whether thats publisized or not its true... Shes also one of the best gymnast to ever breath on this planet. And also her names spelt NASTIA not Nasthia. Nice description KidsTalkRadio...

i think the reason shawn won is because she has done a lot in gymnastics in a short amount of time

shawn might say her heart is in gymnast but obv its not more than nastias whos already trainging and turning down deals and such that shawns taking instead so nastias deserved this award more

i do like shawn more, but she said in interviews that her heart is still in gymnastics, big deal she wanted a nice break, and she has done those routines HUNDREDS of times, shell be fine.

SteelerNationFan43, i'm guessing you're a Shawn fan? I used to be a big fan of her too. but what the hell happened to her gymnastics career? I know she's on DWTS and all busy and stuff, but seems to me like she just threw away all the hard work she put in gymnastics over the years. I completely doubt that she's been back in the gym since the olympics and if she does decide come back after DWTS, she's gonna have to COMPLETELY relearn everything she knows in gymnastics.
