She is 5'1" and 135lbs and she also follow Vince's no nonsense Muscle building routine for women and she also says it works works. I have definitely seen a difference.   • control them things coming down

  • You want to bring arms to 90 degrees and press back up instead of going too far down. Also, rotating the wrists and pressing too fast is not good. This can cause injury.

  • When she gets the weights up at the end where she finishes, make sure she holds the weights for a second or 2, and at the same time tighten her shoulders. This will give her more of a workout and she'll feel her shoulders more and overall a better workout.

  • You need to teach your wife how to perform the exercise! Elbows should not be much lower than 90 degree from the shoulder.  She is also using momentum to complete the reps. Pausing at the bottom and then exploding through the lift would be much more beneficial. Just my opinion.

  • I would max out with her weights.
