When a device comes out and has features one likes, one tends to go for it. Then another comes out with the same features but with added features, and it is tempting to buy that too. I own an iphone an Archos 5, and a netbook. Greedy? Maybe but I use all 3 for different reasons and for the features each one provides. But for me I like gadgetry and I bought my Archos because I wanted to see the differences in the Android OS to the iphone OS, and as a gadget comsumer I like both :)
The camera is a god sent for me as well. I use it to take all my photos and videos.
As far as screen real estate is concerned, the Droid's sharp resolution allows me to read stuff that's really quite small, and the physical, slide-out keyboard leaves me the entire screen to use.
Tethering is still too expensive, AND it would never be fast enough for me.
Finally when I am at home I prefer using my computer.
Well MrBit10, I own a Droid, and I find it to be very useful when I'm on the go. I use the calendar, email. Messinging is useful when the person called is busy. I love being able to get on the internet any time to look up a word or a fact or catch the news. I also use it to read ebooks while trave and I'm not driving.
I don't really use my Droid to play games. The available games are either not interesting or get boring fast.
Sprint sucks hey? You might want to read up on 3G and data plans. Sprint is the only carrier that has 7:00 PM for any time minutes and the unlimted data plan for PAM devices. AT&T and Verizon had a 5 GB cap the last I knew. Beyond the 5GB you get charged per kilobyte unless they have changed that.

I like Verizon, I know they kind of rip you off but hey they've got reliable coverage and good customer service. :)
