Happiness is a mental state of well being characterized by positive emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. A variety of biological, psychological, religious, and philosophical approaches have striven to define happiness
Money makes you happy --
Wrong - If this were true than anyone with enough money will be happy, but how much is enough. Even the riches of people aren't satisfied.
Wrong - Anyone that is satisfied with his or her amount of "wealth" will automatically be happy.
Wrong - Happiness is dependent on monetary wealth, therefore the poor aren't happy.
Wrong -- If the poor are "happy" then they have some wealth, but what is it? Are they satisfied? Are they content? Do they have peace of mind?
People that are Happy?:

More likely to be content
Less likely to amass due to social construct

Peace,
For me, it is being grateful for what I have, instead of being ungrateful because of what I don't have.
I am considered 'poor', yet by the standards of many around the world, I am a rich man. I have a roof over my head, food in my belly, and clothes to protect me. I have health and wisdom.
I may not have everything I want, but I have everything I need. I am grateful. :)
Peace and blessings.
