@gunsitia Her whole life she has been dealing with the awful repercussions of dogmatic Islam. Muslims in america are living in a bubble, they aren't getting the full Islam experience, not even close in most cases.  Ayaan HIrsi Ali has seen exactly what life is like for a Woman in Islam, and she has chosen to reject that and live a secular life. As I'm sure you know, she is now an apostate, and deserves to die under the laws of Islam. I think it is YOU who knows not what he is talking about.

I see potential terrorists among the commentators!!! Ayaan is a woman of reason and integrity. She is the farista of human rights, imaam of critical thinking and the messiah of freedom... We don't need to believe her..if we do our own investigation we will find several evidences showing people do horrible things taking inspiration from the Islamic scripts

That was SUCH an amazing way to end her talk. She really puts the whole issue into perspective... the fact that we have the Constitution to protect our right to voice dissent without fear of retribution is something that so many in the audience couldn't imagine life without. Ayaan came from a culture that does not embrace questioning or dissent. You submit to authority.... that is it! The fact that she IS being freely challenged is the most beautiful thing of it all.
