Some of My Music-From the same musical about the Titanic that The Grand Staircase is from.I'll leave more extensive notes later along with some annotations and lyrics.For now just visualize 5-7 guys sweating and slaving (oh and singing melody counterpoint from the greehorns to the old timers with one rookie mal content in tow whilst all the other Blokes are praising their Enslavment-i mean jobs) in a boiler room on the Titanic.Another Vamp(God i love vamps and Acc figures)driven # of mine.In this case it's pure Prokofiev inspired by the opening of the 3rd mvt of the second Piano concerto and represents Sweltering Heat & coal shoveling Toil.as a matter of fact the acc dialogue includes the following comments "put your backs into it Lads"! "Ayeeee Foreman" "Water here boy" "i;m dead on my feet mate" then opening lyrics say " Furnice to feed heavy shovels to lift,rest's what i need from a fifteen hour shift....no pause in sight...bullets to bite....then another man picks up the song and so forth...

oh and of course her rich passengers too - Man 2
Things like being equipped with compartmental seals her designers have cliamed are dependable-(Echoed by the other men after the beat-heard in music C-point)-
so should she take water slam shut doors of steel
All are safe even we the expendable(echoed) -Man 3
but because of our sweat be gone fear & fret
all problems major are minor and mendable...(Echoed)
for we never have served a more marvelous ship -man4
her interior fixtures are much to behold - man5
it's our job to see to the sucess of this trip - man2
what is left that we have not already extolled - man 1 "This"! 1:48 ....

She cuts the sea like a knife cuts a cake... leaves the
gulls far behind..and the Whales in her wake..and whats more.....etc

as for the musical style take a little Sondheim,Gershwin Prokofiev,R. Strauss,Ravel,Peter Mennin,Keith Emerson,Chick Corea,Donald Fagan,Andy Partridge,Kevin Gilbert and others put them through my filters and you get my music.

the work is no longer conceived as a musical but rather as a theatrical concert suite utilizing actor-singers multi media & without the need for expensive production i.e. sets & costumes or a narrative book or plot(since the plot has been done to death) i have a very propritary take on presentation.
