Komodo Dragon at island of Komodo

We were filming 10 feet long Komodo Dragon, when he started to run toward us. We run to a nearby ranger station. Komodo run after us. Eventually we were able to get out by using a back door.

in reply to the fact that you can outrun komodo dragons, you can't. their top speed is 15mph and that may not seem like much but that is roughly the speed of a professional cross-country runner.

They only have short bursts of energy. They are not that hard to outrun.

I just read they can reach speeds of up to 18 miles (nearly 30 kilometers) per hour- that's fast! Apparently their food source in Indonesia is being poached by hunters and there have been reports of them attacking humans- although it is still very rare. Still, I would not get too close to one.

I'm sure one of these days there will be a disgrace. Tourist go every year deeper and depper inside the island. Komodos are not toys, they are dangerous reptiles and had already killed people.

Exactly, Actually they are just about as fast as Dogs when they run! But the only difference is that they have bursts of energy as oppossed to the dog who can just ruuuuuun!
