To Insomnia girl and Juliaflo Im glad you enjoyed my families beer and Insomnia I would have loved to have the record your father brought home and might have met him at one time. It was the main beer that everyone drank at the Princeton reunions. The Ballantine house still stands in Newark and is now a museum. Those were great times.
Cheers to All,
Peter Ballantine
Alias Three Ring Pete

@peterballantine I remember so many of the melodic jingles for Ballantine Beer, not to mention fond memories of travelling down to Maryland during my summer holiday and passing by the old Newark, New Jersey headquarters, where the three-ring sign was proudly displayed.
"Purity, Body, Flavor'.
(Don't try to figure out my age, LOLOLOLOLOL).

The "XXX" ale is good, but the India Ale was better, and I think it's not made anymore.

my dad used to sing me the Ballentine Beer jingle "hey get your cold beer! Hey get your cold, cold Ballendtine beer!" to me all the time when I was little...I always thought he was saying Valentine until I was older!

The reason for the three rings was due to my great grandfather giving the first taste of his beer to his three sons. One said it had good flavor one said it was pure and the other said that it had good body. So Peter Ballantine put the three rings together to join the family and that why on the three rings there was written Purity body and flavor.
Cheers,
Peter Ballantine

Ballantine Ale... GREEN DEATH! What a distinct flavor that brew had back in the day.

@megjonaslove333 It was the India Pale Ale that I never found a taste for. Curiously, other brands of IPA taste fine to me.
