We are including Batuku drum beats in the Cabo Verde Dreams Jazz Opera. It is so great to see videos like this one. Keep the music videos coming. They are important to sharimg this wonderful music with the people of the world. We need less war and more music.

the first song says 'in all society women have value'. Batuku is an empowering dance, it is the voice of the free spirit of the hard working women of cape verde. Born in the island of santiago, batuku is the voice of our wonderful cape verde. I'm not surprised that in brazil and mozambique there are similar dances, I think african women share a bond of courage and freedom expressed through empowering drum beats and song.
