  • Deanile,

Since I made that video I learned that most puzzle makers do not finish the sides or the backs of their puzzles so that should save you a bunch of time. I also found out that you don't have to use polyurethane. Now I just paint the puzzle, give it a quick spray of krylon triple thick glaze. Cut it. Then once it's cut I put it together and spray it 1 -2 more times . And that's it.Good luck with your new saw. I'm sure you will grow to love the craft as much as I do.

  • Hi Jeannette, I got an old scroll saw a few weeks ago and am trying to learn what I can do with it. Watching how you spin the puzzle around as you go was very instructive, and you covered some of the details of finishing the edges and top that I might not have known. I particularly liked "now we're going to puzzle the puzzle."

  • Thank you, its always nice to hear from other woodworkers. I am still new to this craft and its always nice to hear from others that I am on the right track.

  • This is great, a nice traditional jigsaw puzzle!

Using several layers of varnish is very good advice because the depth thing on a scroll saw can leave marks on the picture. Also, glad to see I'm not the only one who uses bench power tools on the floor! Thanks for the video.
