This is a handsome, very impressive ANTIQUE HERSCHEDE GRANDFATHER (HALL) CLOCK. It was in one family for almost 80 years, unfortunately the owner has moved to assisted living and has to give up the clock. Made by The Herschede Hall Clock Company, Cincinnati, Ohio USA. The serial number is a little hard to read, but I believe it is 26916. According to the Herschede serial number chart, the clock was made in 1916. The clock keeps excellent time, all nine chimes work with a choice of Westminster, Canterbury and Whittington quarterly and hourly strikes. The hourly chime can be turned off, however the musical quarterly chime on/off selector works sporadically. Clock face is bright and shiny and in perfect condition. The wood cabinet (possibly mahogany) and glass are crack free except for a reglued top finial. Unfortunately, the moon dial image has flaked away over time. The clock has a brass plaque commemorating the clock's Panama Pacific International Exposition 1915 Grand Prize. Includes winding key. The clock measures 95" tall x 27" wide and 17" deep at the base. It will be a welcome addition to your home and a wonderful conversation piece! The clock is sold as is.
THE BUYER MUST MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO PICK UP THE CLOCK. IT WILL NOT BE SHIPPED.
