  • The SIV-B was 6000 nautical miles (6910 miles) away. Thats the equivalent of watching a truck in London from the middle of Hollywood. In other words, only visible with a powerful telescope.

  • His reason for not talking about it on the radio was NOT that he was unsure what it was or anything like that. He didn't mention it because of not wanting "all sorts of people" who were listening to hear about it. He didn't want to be called back because of aliens (his words). This means he THOUGHT it was alien.
