You know, that actually is an intriguing possibility. Maybe the ascent stage rocket from Luna 15? It had parted from the USSR 3 days before than apollo 11. To me that would awesome if it were so, even more than a totally unlikely alien spaceship.

It could have been a Russian lunar lander, Luna 15 was sent to the moon on the same day as Apollo 11, around this time the Russians were sending many rovers and landers to the moon, I am surprised this documentary did not consider that possibility.
