http://video.gearlive.com - Apple has locked down the iPhone battery, which means that once it can’t hold a charge, you need to send it in. If you’d rather just buy your own battery and replace it yourself, we’ve got your hookup. Nate and I got together to film this this tutorial, which shows how to replace your iPhone battery. Heck, even if you have decided that you will never open up your iPhone on your own, we think it’s still pretty cool to see the process - so just hit play, okay?

  • Um yeah, we do. It's called sponsorship, similar to what you see before a movie, on television, before a DVD begins, in magazines, on the radio, etc. Sorry if you feel we should just be giving up our time for nothing.

    thanks,

  • I would never, never buy a rechargeable device that doesn't have a way to change out the battery. You want to send your phone to Apple every time your phone needs a new battery? How about if you're on an extended stay away from a charger and want to pop in a fresh fully charged battery? Ridiculous product engineering. The iPad has the same problem.

  • Use a sucker on the front screen after taking out the two little screws. Safer and easier than that stupid tool you're using!! Once the sucker is on, just pull upwards carefully!!

  • what a novice this guy takes so long to open this phone......

  • nate .. is to logical and jokes just go over his head like SWOOSH.. plus he was causing some tension and you really couldn't get him to go with a better flow.

  • lol another iphone hater isn't that funny?
