@denty001 Don't I know it..... tried to get mine going after a breakdown, mechanism didn't engage and smacked my foot on the ground...... Felt like I broke my kneecap. The kickstart return spring broke as well. All sorted and working OK again now......
I had one of these when I was 14. I saw just the rolling frame in someone's back yard. I went to the front of the house and asked if they wanted to sell it. The woman who answered the door said, come back later when my husband is in. I came back and he said you can have it. I went into the yard with him and he opened the shed, there in three boxes was the complete rest of the bike in bits. I got a C15 workshop manual and completely rebult it. Didn't cost me a penny. Had it for years.
Very Nice bike. My SS80 is a 1961 too. I bought it in in a sorry state last year and i have just got it back on the road for the first time in 30 years. I noticed the correct six point Star decals on the oil tank of your bike. Are they originals or replacements? I could do with a pair if you know were they are available. Thanks.
why so serious?
