I'm in my third year at bimm and it's cool, I've enjoyed it and I've learnt a lot. There are some pretty fundamental flaws though, first of all they have a very narrow veiw of the music industry and of music in general. Most of the tutors still consider oasis as contemporary music and they don't seem to promote alternative modes of promotion such as is the case with Fugazi and other such bands. Also they're a bunch of money grabbing cunts. That's all they really care about.
Respond to this video... oh come on nobody buys dizee rascal albums, hes a manufactured clown to portray black people as ignorant, black culture is being rammed down white people throats to get us to go to war with them & its working racism & neo nazism is on the rise music is & alwaya has been political
@naleyan What has Guthrie playing with Dizzie Rascal, vastly improving his live performances, having fun and all for a fair pay check got to do with the colour of cheese?
If you'd care to listen to the radio once in a while, I think you'd find that it's predominently overpopulated by the things you hate. Success unfortunately isn't proportional to talent, so who's to say the BIMMers aren't being held back by the unstoppable force of manufactured mainstream bullshit?
@TearTheRoofOff lets hear the name of one genius that has left BIMM & changed the world of music? Guthrie Govan yes i take it all hes played with Genius dizzy rascal hahaha. Oh come on these kids end up in debt to the banks & the teachers who were not too succesful are over paid.. Do u own research look at their most succesful bands I think KOOks is the only one & the guitar used to doss down in the bedsit next to mine at the height of their fame. Ban the copyrights laws & music will live again
@naleyan I know plenty of people who have been to BIMM and come out much more enriched musicians, able to apply their knowledge and experience to make the music that they want. There may be some minor aspects of it that go against this notion, but I've yet to see that effect on anyone I know who has gone there. I think It's about the ambitions, purity and integrity of whoever enrolls there. Teachers like Guthrie Govan likely wouldn't teach there if it was designed to destroy the music industry.
