I have just made 2, and both didn't sound well. I like the look of your PVC shakuhachi. It looks better than those using the joint to make the mouthpiece. I am sure going to make another one using your method!

I have just started learning Shakuhachi. Would you recommend me to buy a PVC shakuhachi as well as a bamboo? (for practice) I found it very difficult playing lower notes on my 18-1/2 inch shakuhachi.
And great video by the way! Very inspiring for new players!

I finally just bought one. I'm still waiting for it to come in though as it has to travel a long way. It's PVC like this one. I have the parts to make a pvc one but most of them are in the closet and I live in a very strict condo complex so there isn't much room to work. For 20 bucks though, (12 bucks plus 8 dollars shipping) I can just buy one as I would probably never get around to actually putting the parts together. I was also not sure about how to measure the angle before cutting.

How long have you been playing Shakuhachi and how much previous experience do you have with other woodwinds and the like. You play very well.
