"Hollywood's Reel Bad Arabs: Problems and Prospects" by Dr. Jack Shaheen. Professor Jack Shaheen is an internationally acclaimed author and media critic. An Oxford Research Scholar and former CBS news consultant on Middle East Affairs, Shaheen's lectures and writings illustrate that damaging racial and ethnic stereotypes of Asians, blacks, Native Americans and others injure innocent people. Dr. Shaheen is the recipient of two Fulbright teaching awards and holds degrees from the Carnegie Institute of Technology, Pennsylvania State University, and the University of Missouri. He is the author of five books: Nuclear War Films, Arab and Muslim Stereotyping in American Popular Culture, The TV Arab, the award-winning book and film Reel Bad Arabs: How Hollywood Vilifies a People, and most recently, Guilty:
Hollywood's Verdict on Arabs after 9/11. Professor Shaheen has given over 1,000 lectures all over the US and in three continents. He has numerous publications in journals and he is the recipient of several awards. The arabs have given to much to the west to be denied. Look up histor if you dont believe me. When the arabs were prospering when Islam came the west was in his darkest ages, they brought much things to europe but europe denies those facts why? then you say we are dumb and idiots. Do you know what the problem is of the west. They simpley deny all the science and improvments that the arabs brought to europe. Look up the history when the arabs ruled the western countries. THey invented algebra, they invented number 0, they didnt much on the medical studies, That was all in the Islamic kaliphat era. Why does the West skip this era when they speak about istory they go from the romans and greeks to the era of the west but they skip the arabic era.

well, if one assumes good intentions, then the ugly image of Arabs is simply inherited from the European background of most Americans. One could never ignore the affect of hatred being propagated through generations even if not in a ducumented form. Such dormant hatred made the Serbs do what they did with pride, simply because of Serb's defeat in a battle against the Ottomans that took place few hundred yrs ago. Such inherited hatred is often not documented because it is a shameful act.

On Hulu they have the "Jack Hunter" movies that shows Arabs in a better light. They are like Indiana Jones set in modern times. They are good movies, with positive Arab archetypes, exotic locations, and intelligent Muslims. It's a beginning, but at least some Arab and Muslim filmakers are fighting back against the Zionists.
