Gaga at the Oak Room- Someone to Watch Over Me

Speechless.
We were so caught off guard because we had no idea she was going to be there. We went to see Brian Newman perform, not expecting a performance from the lady! I love Gaga SO much. I am so happy to have been there. So fortunate to hear her sing.

she's a great live performer and a very very talented artist. her voice is the best is the best of all..no one has her talent and no one works so hard. think of her sitting on the piano writing and singing those wonderful songs. great musician. madonna, britney, rihanna, katy, ke$ha, christina..i don't think they work so hard and they're that talented. that's why Gaga is and should be the queen of pop. you feel so much fire in her music. good luck on your way, Gaga you will blow them all away.

@Astariel2525 Thank you. I do recognize her capabilities. It just still too often spills over into a sea of unnecessary foolishness for me to call her fully capable of jazz atm. These first 25 seconds were a pretty sufficient shot at jazz, while her Lady Is A Tramp cover/duet was a pretty sufficient shot at swing. If she was to release a jazz album, I'd like her to fully dedicate her time to studying the dynamics of jazz. I mean, I'm sure she can pull something off.

I apologize. Wow. I wrote that at 2 a.m. after another existential crisis. Proceed with ignoring my bullshit. I'm glad that you acknowledged that Gaga is capable of 25 seconds of jazz (also there's a video of her scatting in Philadelphia if you care). And by unintelligent, I meant specific. Lol. Let's see/hear you do that well. If you're going to criticize her, don't be unintelligent about it. Like you could say, oh, all of the belts above G4 were strained, or you could just say, I don't think what she was singing was really jazz (which is bullshit, just like your comment, but less rude (because who are you to say what particular vocal stylings are pop and not jazz? I'm sure Billy Holiday sounded like she was yelling quite often)). Just some suggestions.

I loved this performance of Gaga.

To my point, in my opinion and from my observations, Christina doesn't have the same vocal control as Gaga. Christina definitely has a larger range but gets quite off key at times, especially holding two whole notes or more with vibrato. She then tends to scream which I can barely understand her at that point.
