The new WKRP in Cincinnati aired in 1991, and I started taping a few of the earliest episodes, starting with this one, episode 2, "Where Are We Going" Part 2. It had the worst timeslot, 11:35 p.m. on Sunday night.

Needless to say, I didn't tape very many episodes, and the tape itself has since deteriorated, so I apologize for the jumpy and jittery picture you see here. There was no way to adjust it, it is what it is. I didn't want to just throw the tape away since there are no other new WKRPs on youtube, and it's not on DVD, and it's never in syndication. So, I had to upload it as is. It's still watchable.

The show didn't last, and suffered from story problems from Day 1. It lasted two seasons, then was cancelled. Part of its problem was that it tried to remake classic WKRP episodes, mimicking similar storylines, and the station itself never advanced very far: still one salesperson, same guy doing news, still presumably on AM, even though it's rock and roll (at least they updated the music!) Even singly owned by Mama Carlson, as revealed in this episode. Even by 1991, modern radio was corporate-owned.

Well, at least they tried.

  • @alman54 I almost spewed my drink all over my keyboard on that comment alone. LMFAO!

  • Wow - never knew of this. But I was very dubious even before clicking. These things never work - they just come off as sad to me. Thanks for uploading, though. I kinda like the tracking problem like the hiss on a phonograph. :-)

  • @Aviyaytor --YOU'RE pathetic. Did you read what the up-loader wrote??

  • @RichYan33 yep! That's Forest's best good friend!!

  • @monkeybumsmom Why would you bother to watch it? Seriously. If you don't like it, don't watch it. It's really simple. It's called personal responsibility. You be responsible for your actions and let others be responsible for theirs.

  • Is that Bubba from "Forrest Gump"?

  • TV was messed up like that, back in the day; until DTV and Cable

  • u can tell its a vcr tape lol check the tracking .....remember ;)

  • @leananshae it wasn't really any more watchable without the tracking issues. No chemistry with most of the core cast missing.
