Joe Carraro discusses the threat of Chinese predatory pricing on the agricultural industry--specifically how it has hurt California-grown garlic sales--as a precursor to the eroding of the American economy ability to produce products for export, laving us solely to consume and become slaves to foreign-made goods of dubious quality and/or safety.

  • Comparative advantage Joe. They produce it better than we do... we have things we produce better than they do....apples alfalfa corn wheat cherries pears blueberries among many other things that we ship regularly to china... The Chinese hold so many US Dollars like you said the balance of trade will for us to produce.... and Produce we will China will be facing huge inflation especially in the food market in coming years. US Agriculture has nothing to fear from China, we will feed them!

  • Figures they've sold out to China!

    C'mon let's support US farms

  • Grow your own, problem solved. Garlic will grow in a window box.

  • that certainly explains that irrigation problem in CA

  • Excellent video (your best).

Answer this question & you might be able to explain the reason for cheap Chinese garlic...

Who means more to Sec'y Treasurer Tim Geitner?

    A) farmers & their employees in the central valley of California (who could help reduce the US trade deficit)

    B) the Army of the Communist People's Republic of China (who are the US Treasury's largest creditor)
