  • You shouldn't need to provide any proof to point out that religion is bull* .. common sense tells you this..

The bible??? oh please, same thing in the year 10 000 some archeologist might dig up a comic book and people in the year of 10 000 will actually believe that Superman was real..

  • @MrJohnDevour Superman's not real?

  • there's a far easier argument. mark 16:17-18

its either right, and they dont believe. or its true and the bible is wrong.

  • @pyr666 "And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” - yes that is indeed a very testable hypothesis!

  • @adobo777 It it easy, convenient, socially undemanding, and accepted. People like to fit in with the crowd, and not to think too hard.

  • @qyark It is a major selling point.

  • The thing is though, the people would break their shovels because they believe deep down they can get away with it, the same way they feel deep down that they broke it themselves. while the believers often have some rule that say no you can't do it, but also that there is NO possible way god can't see you. which if they truly believed they would believe that too. Not to mention humans instinct to live. though, I do also agree with you that not many actually believe they just sheep along.

  • @Maehedrose It's good to see someone that studied biology and could acually understand what is the the point of life (from this point of view, i'm not an atheist troll). By the way, this video is really funny.

  • I may disagree with a few points, but I still found this video quite funny.

  • From what I see the world is full of folk who believe bunk, either through the urge to conform or because it's advantageous for them. Successful liars often exploit this and it's one of the ways to spot them. Things like shaming tactics and emotional blackmail, the classic example of the later would be: "How could you believe that of me?" But when it comes to the crunch, as you say, peoples instincts often serve them better than their limited powers of reason.

  • @RaphaelAtherill Yes, and what happens to the people who brush him off? According to Christians, death and torture in Hell. That doesn't sound terribly "loving". By the way, are you satisfied with the monk's explanation? Doubt is a good thing, especially doubt in an invisible man who loves us so much he won't reveal himself except to punish us after we decide he's not there after all. If belief in God comforts you, that's great, but don't lose sleep over this, and don't stop asking questions!

  • Religion is a marketing tool, like commercials. Actual belief is a state of mind you come to or not come to. Cheap commercials, sell cheap products, wich masses will buy, because the product appears to be handy and, oh well, couldnt hurt. When you buy something because you want it, or need it, chances are you will avoid the garbage they shove down your throat, and go for something you believe its best fo you.
