Thailand didn't copy Khmer. Why? Because Cambodia was the largest kingdom in Southeast Asia they didn't need martial art unlike thai people that had alot less number and they also fought with Burmese. So thai people created Muay Boran to protect themselves and their family. It's true that thai culture is similar to Khmer's but there is no solid proofs that say Muay Thai was from Cambodia.
