Damn, this is the best sounding p-bass I have ever heard period. This is a passive system? WOW!!!! What has been upgraded exactly? Pick-ups and passive electronics? Can you please tell me what the system includes? Thanks!

Try Tomastik infeld IN 344 Super Alloy .Fat tone., Strings don't take long to get worn in and are easy on the fingers .

steel vs nickel advice?
i put nickel strings on my bass, after having the strings that guitar center initially had on. the strings from guitar center sounded a shit ton nicer and now i put these nickels on after a few practices with the band my bass started sounding really woody and the slapping sounded loose and shitty. could it be i was used to my stainless strings and nickels just not the sound im looking for? let me know your thoughts. nice playing by the way.

I use elites stainless or rotosound stainless if the elites are out of stock - mainly because they're cheap, they do the job and are readily available.
I've played both great and crap examples of each - can't stand ernie ball strings, they've got a definite feel to them that I really don't get on with - some people love them.
I've used nickel plated warwick yellows in the past - they're good and cheap.
