Funbrella: Making rain fun

We made an umbrella-like device Funbrella. This device gives the users opportunities to enjoy or to have fun with many types of rain so we named it after this characteristic (fun + umbrella). Funbrella has the structure based on dynamic speaker (dynamic microphone). It means Funbrella records and replays real vibration data caused by rain drops.
We developed two awesome applications; "Crazy rain" and "Tele-rain". Crazy rain is to feel various kinds of rain, and Tele-rain transmits rain to different places in real time. With such applications, people can enjoy rain that is usually annoying.

By far the goofiest product explanation video I've ever seen... and I loved it! I really enjoyed trying the Funbrella at SIGGRAPH 2009, and this video was fun as well. Quite silly, with it raining snake and hamburger. Thanks for coming to New Orleans, Osaka University! ^_^
