  • Wrong ...Wrong...Wrong!!! All cars (last 25 years) have a computer that controls ignition timing. The 15 degrees BTDC is the base timing. You CANNOT get correct timing without disable computer to get base timing with timing light....after that take computer out of diagnostic mode and computer will advance timing based on sensors.

  • @FxScalper Settle down Cletis! lol Many of the cars on the road now don't even have distributors, but have ignition coil packs and coil over plug ignition systems. This video is for the old dinosaurs with distributors. This is a basic concept video to give a visual to supplement a manual.IF you have an older Honda you'll need to use a jumper wire at the two wire plug on the passenger floor kick panel. Some cars require you unplug the vacuum advance. Just read the label under the hood.

  • Is that a sexy timing light or what? look at that bad boy!!! XD

  • @jonathan99786 Ah, ah, ah, - It works OOOOUT!

  • Dear Sir: I have a 1998 Toyota Corolla 1600cc mechanic. But there is not any sticker that explains the exact ignition timming for my car, ¿Do you have an idea about the correct ingnition timming(TDC) i need to adjust for my car?. ¿Can you recommend to me a good Timming light brand that can last much longer than the Chineese timming lights? . My chineese timming light lasted few minutes and never illuminated again, Thank you for your help

  • @Fuerzalavasoriana The timing for that should be about 10 BTDC. Actron, craftsman, and Snap-on all make good ones.

  • @grawey77 I love what I do. I have a University degree in business- I like this better. People don't have a lot of money right now to even fix their cars, but they have time. Every video I make helps peoples cars be safer or run cleaner. (or just get to work). It's important to me. Knowledge is power and the narcissists that oppress think the voters are ignorant because they let them get a way with selling their liberty for safety and they wind up with neither. I believe in empowering people!

  • @briansmobile1 Thank you very much for your aid. I appreciate tremendously your prompt answer. Regards

  • @AlMair Cars have "timing advance." Some by vacuum lines to a means on the distributor, and other are computer controlled. This advance helps compensate for doppler effect creep. Hondas have a jumper wire you can disable it with. You can plug vacuum lines too. Timing advance or BTDC (before top dead center) meaning when the plug fires is advanced or fired early because the air/fuel mix doesn't burn instantly. It doesn't take long, but long enough to require a head start.

  • @1ownjoo2 There's nothing to "check" it's factory set and can adapt for temp and altitude using an intake air temp sensor and either a map or maf.
