CZ-452 .22LR @ 200 yards. This is a stretch for a .22 which is normally used out to a max distance of 100 yards and usually less. Past 100 yards the projectile's velocity drops from supersonic to subsonic and experiences turbulence as is passes though the transonic range. This breif period of turbulence erodes accuracy. Also, the bullet drops like a rock past 100 yards. Even though this rifle was sighted in at 100 yards it took about 3 ftl of elevation adujustment to put in on target at 200 yds. Wind drift at this distance is a killer. Any noticable wind will blow that now subsonic little projectile off target to the left or right. Shooting into the wind will lower the point of impact since drag increases . Shooting with the wind lessens drag and causes the bullet to strike above the point of aim. All this has to be evaluated by the shooter for each shot and compensated for .

  • A head wind make the bullet rise not drop. Good going for a 22.lr though!

  • @247sniper shooting into the wind creates more drag.

  • 200 Yards???

I was thinking that no more than 75 yards for .22

And from 75 yards up to 200 yard belong to .22 Magnum

    Probably u got LONG BARREL???

    Need your explain!! Thank you!

  • @CharlieDoan Because 75 yards is boring! I have a Ruger Mk. 2 with a 6 7/8" barrel and a scope on it that I sometimes shoot out to 100 yards or a little more with success. I think that CZ in the video has a 24" barrel but a shorter barreled .22 will get the job done, too. I don't condone hunting with a .22 at these extended ranges but just blasting like what I'm doing is fun and challenging. I'd try 300 just because but my scope would run out of elevation adjustment.

  • @3OCALM1 Im just wondering, what is the name for that pading on the butt stock and where can i get one?

  • @peacemaker50cal it didnt work out so I took it off. It was supposed to in effect raise the comb of the stock to accomodate the scope. Problem was that it was too high and got in the way. I don't remember what i did with it. It might have been made by Uncle Mikes but I couldnt swear to it.

  • Air rifle? Are you kidding me "stocklockandload"??? It's a .22 and that is obviously not an air rifle...

  • Wow, cool. I always used to think that .22s were kinda gay, but I have started firing .22s again and its a cheap way to practice marksmanship.

  • Paper plates with AK ammo out to 300 yards.

  • nice shooting tex;]

  • this weekend we we're shooting our 22 about about 200 yards yesterday with a strong crosswind, no problems at all, though was a hard target, we had a shoot off (of witch i won :D ) to see who would hit a shot gun shell at that distance first, did i mention it was a 22 my grandpa got towards then end of ww2?

  • I hit the same hole everytime at that range with mine! IRON SIGHTS! Just joking lol, cool video.

  • According to test preformed by shooting magazine the max velocity from 22 lr is from about 18 inch barrel and in test started with about 24 " and measured velocity at muzzle with 10 rounds and then cut 1" off and repeated. there is a finite amount of powder to burn and expand and in 22 lr is not a great amount and after speed maxes out extra barrel will slow down bullet.

  • @247sniper actually it does make it drop but a back wind makes it rise he is correct sorry ive shot plenty high calibers to veryfy this

  • 200 yd shooting with a .22 is awesome. i tried that but at a steel plate. as long as there is no wind everything is cool. i have a mil dot scope that helps as aiming points. nice video

  • very bad

  • What you are doing is by not even moderately difficult with that gun rest you've got there. I'm guessing this video is just a proof of concept, to show the maximum range that a .22 would be able to hit anything, under perfect /unrealistic conditions?
